It is considered that the general responsibilities of all Association volunteers shall be:
Supervision All volunteers can expect to receive respectful support and supervision from the ALACBC paid staff. The reporting structure will be clearly outlined from the outset and two-way communication encouraged at all times. All volunteers will be provided with a job description outlining the duties required of them. Their signature will be required, indicating their acceptance of said duties. Relatives of staff, volunteers, learners and board members are welcome to volunteer, however measures will be taken to ensure that no volunteer is supervised by a family member. Volunteers will receive direction and support from paid staff as to their day-to-day tasks and assignments. Volunteers are expected to keep track of their volunteer hours and be able to present an accurate tally of these hours to the administrator as requested on a regular basis. Volunteers will be required to read and sign an agreement of confidentiality regarding the affairs of the students and the ALACBC. Volunteer retirement and dismissal Those volunteers who do not adhere to the policies and procedures of the ALACBC or who fail to perform their duties satisfactorily will go through a progressive disciplinary process which includes a verbal warning, a written warning, suspension and finally dismissal if the volunteer’s performance continues to be unsatisfactory. Any volunteer who is continually absent from his/her assigned duties will be asked to resign his/her position. |
